What is Procedural Traffic? It’s an addon that lets you create custom traffic simulations and quickly fill parking lots with cars. Whether you're animating a single vehicle or simulating traffic with hundreds of cars, everything in real-time using proxy vehicles. Addon includes 55 built-in models with real brands and 46 models with copyright-free brands, all of which are also available as standalone rigged assets.

AUTOMATIC BRAKING

Easy to use

Create a curve, add vehicles from our library (or your own), and press play. To stop the vehicles, place an object in front of them (the object must be inside the “stopped” collection). To let the cars move again, simply remove the object from their path.

Automatic braking. Cars automatically slow down and stop when another vehicle is in front of them, then start moving again as soon as the car ahead does. You have full control over the simulation through adjustable braking strength and distance.

Multiple lane interaction. Cars communicate with each other even when they’re on different curves (as long as they’re in the same collection). This gives you more possibilities and greater control over every situation. Each curve has its own independent settings.

Complex simulations

All scenarios are possible, no matter how complex they are. You have full control over everything. From single-car animation to simulations with hundreds of vehicles. From bumpy dirt roads to intersections and highways.

Customize everything

Basic settings

Adjust the number of cars on each curve independently, along with their spacing and offset. Set car speed in km/h, braking distance in meters, and strength of acceleration and braking.

Lights and brake light

Every car model comes with headlights, taillights, and brake light. The brake light automatically turn on when the car is braking.

Procedural materials

Cars have procedural car paint and imperfections such as dirt, scratches, and splashes. You can adjust the color and intensity of each.

Realism

Everything is grounded in real-world, from the models to the simulation itself. Randomness in car spacing, slight randomness in stopping distance, and subtle X-axis variation along the curve.

Turn signals

Each car has turn signals at the front and rear. You can choose to blink left, right, or both. You can adjust intensity and blinking speed.

People in the cars

You can add people to cars for added realism. The human models are lightweight and optimized so they don’t slow down the simulation or render.

Proxy realtime preview

Proxy cars are 120-vertex duplicates of the real cars, matching their position, shape, dimensions, and color. They behave like the real cars but allow real-time preview in solid mode, so you can animate without compromises. In the render, the realistic cars are used automatically.

Real brands & Copyright-free brands

Our 3D vehicle models include real-world car brands, provided for personal and non-commercial use due to trademark and copyright restrictions. To support commercial proiects, we also offer versions with copyright-free brands.

Motorcycles, bicycles and riders (early access)

In the V4 update, we added motorcycles, bicycles and riders. This major update is still in early access, as we plan to add more bikes, riders and electric kick scooters. They work on the same system as cars, and each model has custom animations for stopping and starting.

Speed zones

Each speed zone has its own settings for vehicle speed and braking. This gives you even greater control over the animation without affecting the rest of the curve. A zone can be created with a single click in the panel and its shape can be edited in edit mode.

Parking lots

Parking option 1. Create parking lots using a curve for quick car placement. Adjust the number, spacing, and offset of the cars. Use proxy cars for real-time manipulation and preview.

Parking option 2. Use parking on points if you need more precise control over car placement. In both methods, cars automatically snap to the ground and proxy cars can be used for better performance.

Cars as standalone assets (Car collection addon)

Car Collection is our standard car addon - an easy drag-and-drop solution with rigged cars for more precise animation and settings. Every wheel has its own bone, giving the suspension a realistic feel. The rig is based on the industry-standard Rigacar addon.

Headlights, taillights and brake light

Every model comes with headlights, taillights, and brake lights. The brake lights turn on automatically when the car is braking. To enable real-time animation, proxy cars also include brake lights.

Turn signals

Works the same way as a speed zone, but allows you to choose whether the turn signals blink left, right, or both. Each car has turn signals at the front and rear, and you can adjust both their intensity and blinking speed. To allow real-time animation, proxy cars also include turn signals.

Interiors

Every car has a detailed, real-world–based interior, optimized for performance.

People in cars

With one click, you can add people to the cars and choose driver only or with a passenger. The human models are lightweight and optimized so they won’t slow down the simulation or render.

Material

Cars have procedural car paint and imperfections such as seamless procedural dirt, scratches, and splashes. You can adjust the color and intensity of each.

License plates

Includes 120 US and 30 EU license plates, ready to use on any vehicle.
